Hearths is a lightweight data pack designed to significantly enrich the vanilla Nether experience by introducing a variety of new features and structures. It specifically targets three core Nether biomes: the Nether Wastes, the Crimson Forest, and the Warped Forest, aiming to make them more engaging and visually diverse. The primary goal of this mod is to address the often monotonous nature of the Nether, providing players with more interesting environments to explore and interact with, thereby enhancing the adventure and world generation aspects of the game. This mod brings a fresh perspective to the Nether's familiar landscapes. The mod achieves its enhancements through several key additions. In the Nether Wastes, players will discover netherrack spikes, resembling stalagmites and stalactites, along with new blackstone and magma formations that create 'lakes,' transforming the biome into a more hostile, cave-like environment. The Crimson and Warped Forests are updated with blackstone rocks, fallen fungus stems, and a novel type of sprawling huge fungus, increasing vegetation density. Furthermore, two new imposing structures, the Crimson and Warped Towers, have been added to these forests. These tall structures, reaching nearly 100 blocks high, not only offer valuable loot and challenging mobs but also serve as functional 'elevators' for navigating the Nether's verticality. Hearths is designed with compatibility in mind, supporting a wide range of Minecraft versions from 1.21.3 to 1.21.10. It is compatible with various mod loaders including Datapack, Fabric, Forge, NeoForged, and Quilt. This mod is considered optional on the client side, meaning players can enjoy the enhanced Nether even if they don't have it installed on their local game. However, it is a required component on the server side, ensuring that all players connected to a server running Hearths will experience the new content consistently. This setup guarantees a unified and immersive Nether exploration for everyone. Installing Hearths is straightforward, depending on your chosen mod loader. For Datapack, the mod file should be placed within the 'datapacks' folder of your Minecraft world save. If you are using Fabric, Forge, NeoForged, or Quilt, the mod file needs to be placed in the 'mods' folder of your Minecraft installation. Before launching the game, it is crucial to ensure that you have the correct version of the mod installed for your specific Minecraft version and that your mod loader is up to date. Verifying these prerequisites will prevent potential conflicts and ensure a smooth gameplay experience with the new Nether additions.
