Zombie Nautilus Adds New Aquatic Mount to Minecraft
Minecraft's Zombie Nautilus offers a new aquatic mount option with unique taming mechanics and underwater features.
Zombie Nautilus has been introduced as a new aquatic mount in Minecraft, available for taming across various ocean biomes. This undead creature can be found in Cold Ocean, Deep Cold Ocean, and even Dripstone Caves, adding an intriguing new element for players exploring aquatic depths alongside Drowned mobs.
Versions & Loaders
The Zombie Nautilus can spawn with a trident-wielding Drowned in both Java and Bedrock editions, with spawn mechanics varying slightly. In Java, there is a 6% chance for a Drowned to wield a trident, compared to a 15% chance in Bedrock. This chance is critical, as a 50% likelihood exists for Drowned to spawn as a jockey on the Zombie Nautilus.
Features & Taming Mechanics
To tame a Zombie Nautilus, players need to use a pufferfish, available in lukewarm and warm oceans. Each pufferfish offers a 1/3 chance to tame this mount. The Nautilus grants unique underwater capabilities, such as the Breath of the Nautilus, which enables players to pause their oxygen bar, and it can dash forward using the jump button.
Impact / What's Next
- The Zombie Nautilus is faster underwater than regular mounts, enhancing exploration.
- Nautilus Armor is needed to prevent the mount from burning in sunlight, found as loot in Buried Treasure.
- Taming introduces strategic gameplay, requiring players to seek specific biomes for pufferfish hunting.
These new dynamics challenge players to adapt quickly to this aquatic addition, offering enhanced fluid mobility and exploration mechanics across ocean biomes.
